Preparation
The experts at Johnstone’s know that the key to a perfect finish is in the preparation so take your time now, follow the simple steps below and you will be rewarded with a gorgeous new look. Start by making sure all surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from grease and loose or flaking material. On previously painted glossy surfaces rub down with a fine waterproof abrasive paper and then rinse thoroughly. Please avoid inhaling any sanding dust and always wear a face mask if dry sanding.
Application
Now you are at the stage where you are ready to begin painting so give the paint a thorough stir. Johnstone’s paints are made to the highest standard and are ready to use straight from the tin so there is no need for any thinners. For the best results apply using a brush or roller. Make sure you cover the whole stain and a 20cm area surrounding the stain. Do not apply in temperatures below 10ºC.
