Johnstone's 5 Litre Smooth Masonry Paint - Cloudy Day

Johnstone’s Smooth Masonry Paint has been specially formulated to give 10 years protection on exterior surfaces, including sound exterior brickwork, stone, concrete, pebbledash, roughcast rendering and other similar surfaces. The smooth weather resisting finish has good opacity, helps prevent dirt accumulation, resists flaking and allows for surface expansion and contraction.

Dry Time : touch dry 1-2 hours and recoatable after 4-6 hours.

Substrate: This paint is suitable for use exterior brickwork, stone, concrete, pebbledash, roughcast rendering and other similar surfaces.

Preparation

All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from grease. If mould or algae are present, treat with a fungicidal wash and remove with a scraper or stiff brush, then treat the surface again with fungicidal wash. Any lime wash, distemper or flaking paint should be removed. Chalky underbound surfaces should be dry brushed and treated with stabilising solution as directed. Wear a suitable face mask when creating dust. When using more than one tin, it is advised that you intermix the quantity required beforehand. 

Application

Ensure maximum ventilation during application and drying. Stir well before use. Apply liberally and evenly by brush or roller. Do not thin except for absorbent surfaces when a small quantity of clean water may be added. For maximum durability we recommend applying two coats of Johnstone’s Smooth Masonry. Under normal conditions the paint will be touch dry in 1-2 hours. Allow approximately 4-6 hours drying between coats. Do not apply when air or surface temperature is below 10ºC or in damp conditions.

Cleaning

Replace lid firmly after use. Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean all equipment immediately after use in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position.
Do not empty waste paint into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.
