Johnstone’s Washable Matt Emulsion paint has been specially developed for use in busy areas of your home – even on wood and metal surfaces. This low odour formulation is 10 times tougher than standard matt emulsion, which means those everyday marks and spills can be easily wiped away without spoiling the finish.
Coverage 12m² per litre
Dry Time 1-2 hours
Preparation
Ensure all surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from grease. Remove any loose or flaking paint. Any glossy surfaces should be rubbed down with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinsed thoroughly to provide a key. Avoid the inhalation of dust, wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. All absorbent surfaces should first be sealed with Johnstone's Washable Matt Emulsion thinned up to 1 part clean water to 4 parts paint. Ensure to prime bare timber and metal surfaces with an appropriate primer.
Application
Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Stir the paint well before use. For best results apply by brush, roller or paint pad. When using a roller, use a medium pile synthetic type. If using a brush or paint pad load generously with paint and apply liberally and evenly, avoid overspreading. Two coats are recommended on all surfaces. If painting over a strong or contrasting colour a further coat may be required.
Cleaning
Remove as much product as possible from brushes, rollers and paint pads before cleaning. Clean all equipment immediately after use in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
